Dr. Roland Summit is a psychiatrist and founding board member of Parent’s Anonymous, a group dedicated to helping victims of child abuse. When is wife, Jo, of 60 years developed dementia and deteriorated, Dr. Glen Komatsu, a leading hospice and palliative care physician at Providence’s TrinityCare Hospice, appeared as a “magic man.” Within a half hour, Glen said three words that changed Roland’s life and cemented a bond between the two men – “Jo is dying.” Listener advisory: Bring Kleenex.
