Testing our heroes COVID-19 antibody study set to begin Aug. 31

Amy Compton-Phillips, M.D.
Providence Health Care is sponsoring a caregiver research study of a blood
test to detect antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19).
The purpose of this study is to determine the prevalence of positive IgG
antibodies, meaning likely exposure to SARS-CoV-2, among actively working
Providence caregivers. The study will be held in the Providence Health
Care service area in two locations Aug. 31 – Sept. 12. Testing will
be available for Providence caregivers who are currently working and have
no symptoms typical of the virus. Participation is voluntary, free and
confidential. Watch for more information next week with instructions for
accessing Immune ID, a website that will provide information on completing
study consent and registration, a questionnaire, and blood draw scheduling.
To learn more about the process and study, we have provided a FAQ and
a short video with Dr. Amy Compton-Phillips.
