Volunteers sew thousands of masks for community organizations

The Snohomish County Mask Brigade is the product of Providence Institute for Healthier Communities’ COVID-19 resource hub, Give Well Local. Since its inception, the Snohomish County Mask Brigade has distributed more than 6,500 masks throughout the county.

More than 26 volunteer drivers and 200 volunteer mask makers have made this work possible. An equity team provided a social justice perspective and input for the selection of organizations receiving masks. More than 43 organizations received masks, including Pacific Treatment Alternatives’ AIDS Outreach Project and Snohomish County Syringe Exchange programs, Refugee and Immigrant Services NW, Trinity Lutheran Church’s food bank, the Salvation Army, Compass Health, and Snohomish Immigration Advocacy.

Thank you to all who donated their time, talent, and treasure!
